Human rights are inherent rights that belong to every person, simply by virtue of being human, and are not contingent on nationality, sex, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other status. These rights encompass fundamental freedoms and protections essential for a dignified life, including the right to life, liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, and the right to work and education. They are universal and inalienable, meaning no one can be deprived of them, and they are indivisible, meaning all human rights are equally important.
